This book is the result of an event which took place at the UN Headquarters in New York on 18 May 2016 as a means to further a positive narrative about the ongoing large movements of refugees and migrants and examine possibilities for sustainable urbanization in service of these displaced individuals. The goal is to look at the challenges and opportunities and to solve problems through design, planning, and technology while maintaining a focus on the ethical and humane treatment of displaced persons. This book is an introduction to the vast number of solutions and is expected to be a catalyst for partnerships in the service of migrants and refugees, and to promote sustainable urbanization.
